Many months of hard work from our volunteers to make our first ever gala get up and running. We really appreciated the help, support and advice we received from the venue and other local businesses and people.
We was overwhelmed to have sold more tickets than required to be able to hold the event. We are so use to offering support and helping families that it seemed quite strange and uncomfortable asking people to pay the full price for something. We wanted to make sure that everyone had a good night they remembered and would talk positively about thereafter.
We wanted the night to overwhelm our guests and we would like to think exactly that happened. It was filled with sparkle, entertainment, fantastic raffle and auction items and such positivity in the room, all whilst raising some £££ too enable the work of the charity to continue and get better.
What made the night even more special for us was that the night was “real” with many of our parents being there, talking to others about their children, some of the challenges and how Little Heroes ASD Support Group has helped to make a positive difference to their families. It was extremely special and heart warming to see. To top it all off, one of our very talented mums entertained our guests with her beautiful voice, a tear or two was definitely shed.
The night raised a fantastic figure which will help to bring our hub to reality. We have been so encouraged and are now very enthusiastic for our 2020 Charity Gala event which we are already looking into how we can make it bigger and better. We would love some big prizes/ auction lots and an autism related celebrity, so if you have any links we would truly appreciate it.
Thanks again to everyone, together we really can make a difference….
